Chubes Vs Cactus Chubes – what is the difference and which are the ones for you?

The Chubes were designed when Loz was telling Jenny and Stuart about how Jamie would chew their hoodie strings and was ruining them. They had one of those moments where it was clear there wasn’t just Jamie doing this. So Stuart started designing and he came up with a drawing of the Chubes. This would fit onto the hoodie strings to redirect from chewing them!

Chubes come in a pack of 4 so that you have enough for 2 hoodies. However, the Chubes can also be worn as a necklace with as many Chubes on the cord as you want. The Chubes are a hallow round cylinder shape and are very discreet. They are not only discreet as a necklace but also on hoodies, which is one of the reasons they are so popular. A hallow centre gives them a very springy bounce back when chewed which is great for those looking for flexibility in their chew. It also has a dummy like feel as it gives a similar “pop” to a dummy or bottle teat. The shape of the Chubes makes them great for those redirecting from finger chewing. With their matt finish they have a soft and smooth feel to them and they come in a variety of colours.

We came up with the Cactus Chubes because the Chubes were so popular we wanted to make a textured version. So the initial drawing for these were much smaller and this time drawn by Jenny.

After some brainstorming we thought we would beef these Chubes up and widen the central hole. This way they would fit over things like wires and charging cables too. We were very pleased with the result and so were our customers as the first order of these sold out very quickly!

The Cactus Chubes come in a pack of 2 with a cord so that you can wear them as a necklace. Like the original Chubes they are a cylinder shape with a hallow centre but they are much chunkier in size. Cactus Chubes have a matt finish but are textured which make them an amazing handheld stim toy. Our Cactus Chubes are also tougher and more durable than the original Chubes if you like a tougher chew. Like the original Chubes you can easily fit the Cactus Chubes over your hoodie strings and so much more!
