Therapy Animals – How My Cat Helps Me And Amazing Cat Facts!

Therapy animals are used in public to keep people and at ease.

When we think of therapy animals we tend to think of a therapy dog, but what about cats?

Cats can also be the perfect therapy and best friend we desperately need.

Having a cat myself, (who is my best friend and the most wonderful therapy) I’d love to share the things she does for me.

Also because my best friend is also one of my special interests I’ve learned some amazing facts I’d like to share with you about Cats.

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. Here are some of the ways my cat helps me:

I stroke, cuddle and play with my cat. The minute I touch her soft fluffy fur I immediately feel a huge relief. Sometimes she gets cheeky and play fights with me but other times she cuddles and purrs and her purr vibrates through my hand and make me feel calm.

Talking of purrs, when she curls up on my chest and purrs, the sound of her purring can often help me drift off to sleep. It’s therapeutic.

My cat knows when I’m upset and immediately comes and sits with me, I’m not sure how she knows but she does and that makes me feel like someone is there for me.

Every morning my cat gives me cat kisses and cuddles, this is a great way to start the day.

I talk to my cat and she talks back to me in meows. She makes me feel like someone is listening to me

Just looking at my cat makes me feel better, she’s so cute and I love her so much it’s hard not to lift my mood by just having her near me.

Here are some amazing things you may not know about cats:

Neutering your cat can add to its lifespan

The more you talk to your cat the more it will talk to you

The ridged pattern on a cat’s nose is as unique as a human fingerprint

Cats can run 3 mph faster than Usain Bolt!

Cats live longer if they live indoors

How amazing is that?!
