INTRODUCTION
Our sensory system can be complicated to understand, most people think that we have 5 senses when in fact we actually have 8. Here is what you need to know about the 8 senses.
As mentioned above, we actually have 8 senses, it’s a myth that we only have 5. Our senses are:
- Sight
- Sound
- Taste
- Smell
- Touch
- Interoception
- Proprioception
- Vestibular
You can be either hypersensitive or hyposensitive to each (also known as oversensitive or undersensitive). For example, if you are Hyposensitive to sound, you will seek it out by listening to loud music or the same clip of music over and over again. While if you are hypersensitive to sound you might wearing headphones to cancel the sound out.
