What you can expect from the online Sensory Perception Course. Our resident neurodivergent expert  Loz has put together a cracking 6-week course that will help you master your sensory challenges. Using her own experience and over 10 years of knowledge, you can expect to get the following from joining the course:

  • Completely understand all 8 senses and how they affect daily living
  • Identify your own personal sensory challenges with the use of a diary
  • Discover strategies and tricks to master challenges in everyday situations
  • Learn about sensory overloads and the difference between meltdowns and shutdowns
  • Understand how energy accounting can prevent the above
  • Discover the importance of sensory products and how to select the right products for you

With the Online Sensory Perception Course it all this happens within a private Facebook group, just with your fellow students who are embarking on the same journey to master sensory perception. This adds further peer support to all in the group and Loz will be on hand to guide, support, and answer any questions you have. This support does not end after 6 weeks, it is lifelong, we are always on hand to help.

You can get this Online Sensory Perception Course at a special introductory rate of £59.95 (40 credits) and includes a choice of Chewigem as your first sensory product. Chewigem’s are so much more than just chewables and can help a range of the senses.

The course content is a series of videos, posts, and emails that will guide you through the actions you need to take to gain the sensory perception you are seeking. These are accessible via your email and the group, meaning they can be done at any time.

So if you face daily sensory struggles and want to be guided through the complex world of sensory processing difficulties, this is the course for you. Loz will provide you with the tools and information, all you need to do is commit to actioning the tasks and learning. These two things combined will cement your success and understanding with the potential to have a life-changing impact.

Sensory difficulties do not go away… but with the right support and strategies, they can be managed.

*If you do not have access to Facebook – you can still do the course but would not get the peer to peer support from the group, but you can email Loz for support. Any questions please do get in touch we will gladly help.

*This course starts on October 4th 2021 and will run for 6 weeks.

*Intake for this session of the Online Sensory Perception Course will close on September 30th, 2021

*The introductory price will end and from November onwards the course will be £99.95 (67 credits)

Once damaged, Chewigem should be discarded and replaced.

All products through chewing will eventually show signs of wear and tear. How long that depends on a variety of factors and it can take time to find the right product for you.

As a general guide, refer to the lifespan tables for an indication of longevity.

Check regularly for damage.

Pendants are not suitable for anyone under 3 years of age due to the long cord which poses a strangulation risk
All pendants have a breakaway clasp for safety, always check this is working well.
All of our silicone products are nontoxic, lead, latex, BPA, PVC, and phthalate-free
The clasp on pendants is not designed for chewing. (small part – choking hazard). If you think you or your chewer cannot resist chewing the clasp then select a product that is not a necklace.
In children and any person with a learning disability, that does not understand risks, it is vital all products should be used with supervision and checked regularly for damage. As soon as wear and tear shows, the product should be discarded.
Products must be checked frequently and discarded as soon as wear and tear shows. This means a tear or puncture that could cause a larger section to break off.

How to care for a Chewigem without a cord (e.g. Fidgets, handhelds & bangles)

You can wash these using any of the below options:

Hot soapy water
Top rack of a dishwasher
Steam steriliser
Microwave steriliser
Sterilising solution.
Chewigem’s with a cord (e.g. pendants & necklaces)

With the cord on you can wash your Chewigem’s:

Hot soapy water
Washing machine on a low heat
with the cord removed:

By removing the cord the silicone section can be washed in the same way as a cordless product above.

The clasp on the cords is plastic and cannot cope with high heat and risks melting which is why we suggest the cord be removed.

This is simple, snap the breakaway clasp apart, pull the clasp back down the cord to reveal the knot, untie the knot and slide the clasp off this should allow you to take the cord off the pendant. Once washed, reverse the process, reattach the cord, slide the clasp down onto the cord, tie a knot at the end and slide the clasp back up over the knot.

For further information please refer to our Caring for your Chewigem guide which gives lots of information on looking after your Chewigem and prolonging its life.
